Maria
was born, appropriately enough, on the first day of spring in the
culturally diverse capital of Armenia – Yerevan. Her music, as her
birth date, is like a spring breeze – bringing with it a sense of
freshness and anticipation. She is the daughter of a doctor and a
teacher who sought to provide Maria with wonderful training in the arts
and music. She grew up in a very close-knit family along with her
beloved younger brother Ruben.
Maria always expressed a deep interest
in music her entire life. Because of her aptitude for music at such a
young age, Maria’s parents enrolled her in music school at the age of
six where she majored in piano.
Maria also developed her singing
ability at an early age. She became a member of the school choir and
took part regularly in school concerts. She studied music seven years
and finished music school with degrees in excellence.
Following her father in medical arts, Maria attended the State University of Yerevan where she majors in biology and medicine.
She
loved guitar very much and learned to play by herself. Maria began
writing music at the age of 12. She likes to say “I write music that
sounds like the images in my mind”. Maria’s music is full of passion:
“I like to write music that is full of what I feel in my soul and heart.
Music is my life and without music it would be like a world without
sun”.
